Nowadays, car tech has advanced to do just about anything: pedestrian detection, automated parking, even self-driving. All these advancements supposedly make driving not only more enjoyable, but safer. But as tech bros take over the auto industry, are new cars all they’re cracked up to be?

Nah. I wont be buying a newer car anytime soon. America is on the decline. Sign of the times. You will own nothing and be happy. Also, eat zee bugs.
All I have to say is, all the cheap second hand cars bought on Top Gear drove through the Amazon rainforest, all the way to Chile
I like self driving cars, I have a normal car and I'm very nervous and I don't like to drive, but I unfortunately I have to do it, I do not have no public transport in the area, so technology it is also very useful and I can wait for the price to go down for me to afford one.
Modern day cars suck, there shapes are ugly , there's too much gadgets that you don't need or never use .
Electric cars are too exspensive and I won't pay it, this stupid oh it's I,ll just put it on Fianance, yoy know the normal con crap.
Only too moan, later I can,t afford it or I'm putting most of wages on the car payment, cars are too exspensive plain and simple and I ain,t throwing all my money at a dam car .
A lot of modern cars are boring , I don't like these big silly screens , there too bright and its distracting .
Look at tesla , inside there boring, dull, grey, miserable looking.
No thanks
I'm not spending thousands and thousands and thousands and thousands and thousands on a car ..
Just for big debt, nope not gonna happen
2:00 "So many of these features are now standard in many cars"
BMW : hold my beer
My dad was a sales person at Volkswagen when they were cool. He hates modern cars.
I would never go back to any of my previous cars I've owned in my life can't ever live without my Model Y.
Honestly, I wish manufacturers could just sell brand new vehicles built to exact 90’s specs. If I could get a brand new 1998 ranger single cab with a 4.0 v6, and a 5 speed, I’d be ecstatic. Don’t need electric windows, don’t need variable valve timing, don’t need censors & backup cameras. I really just want a cab, a bed, an engine, a transmission and a differential, and I want it to last 50 years and cost $15,000. I can’t be the only one
Too much technology and plastic, appliances are bad too.
This is exactly why companies like Edison Motors are so important nowadays. They are a startup in BC Canada that is developing diesel generator hybrid semitrucks, with a big emphasis on maintaining all aspects of the right to repair. They're also getting set up to start teaching other mechanic shops how to do diesel generator hybrid conversions for pickup trucks. This is the way of the future, not crap like the cyberpunk and self driving technology.
Just got a 2011 Yaris. Manual transmission. Roll up windows. No infotainment. No Navi. It's a refreshing change of pace to drive.
i hate touchscreen control and electric parking brake
self driving car is only a solution for introverts (tho tainted glass are far more effective)
0:03 spaceship? spaceships have 1000 controls not an iPad lol. I get it though
The guy that actually put his finger in the trunk is a specimin to say the least
You showed my '91 Prelude.😍 I'll never give up on that car. FWD with 4WS. Fully mechanical, simple, idot proof, reliable.
This video is one of the main reasons why I will most likely never drive modern cars. I currently drive a 1994 Ford F-150 XLT, and I love that truck to death, and I will continue to drive it and maintain it until it is nothing but a chassis and an engine.
My dad actually had a theory about this. if a car is built to last forever, why spend money on a new car? Easy manipulative marketing strategy!
This week i bought my self a 2001 Toyota Corolla and i am more than pleased with it !! It even got AC in it.
I bought a used 2015 Ram C/V delivery van back in 2019. Thanks to the pandemic, it still has less than 100K miles on it and runs as strong as ever. Beyond just needing a van, a major plus for me was its stripped-down lack of electronic gadgets – no touch screens or gps maps, just analog dials and physical buttons. Unfortunately, the one thing it inherited from its Dodge Caravan roots was the electronic HVAC system, and that's what I've had the most trouble with. Over the years, it's sporatically refused to open one vent or another, pumped out max AC in the winter, and burnt out its main air blower. I eventually had to resort to the local Ram dealer's out-of-warranty service, requiring two attempts over a three-week period. The whole experience cost $1800 for what back in the day would've cost a tenth as much to replace a dead ventilator fan.
i'm so happy with my manual transmission mk5 ford fiesta. none of this utter woke nonsense.
the problem whid new cars is that they looke ugly and almust all the more butget oferings are fwd and full of pointles tech
With public transport – you gotta get rid of the nutters.
Intelligent speed assist sucks
Cus it reads the wrong signs at times and slows down and speeds up 'randomly'
