According to CarEdge autos are either in short supply or over supply. They apparently believe there is no such thing as a normal supply since that headline would be boring
Dealers are selling a product that middle an poor Americans cannot afford. When u add insurance , interest if not paid , $3.50 gasoline your cost per mile could easily go over $10.00 to $15.00 dollars a mile .
I've found the new 2023s still on dealer lots are top of the line models with lots of options added on that drove up the price. Dealers don't want to take a big hit these cars and are reluctant to discount them.
Zach I love what you & your Dad do on this channel, but isn't it true that if a car sits unsold for too long on any lot, it'll just get sold at a dealer auction long before the OG dealer tries to mark it down to sell to a customer?
You know it's getting bad for dealers when they start blowing up your email asking if you still want to buy this that or the other that you had tried to negotiate last year.ππππππSo heart warming to say , not interested!!!
But, at least with Stellantis, the company withdraws all manufacturer incentives and so the dealers are stuck with them. Eventually they have to eat them… My local dealer has a 2022 Gladiator with 22K miles on it they used at the dealership in some fashion so technically still new. They are STILL trying to sell it at new car prices equal to 2024 prices. Bizarre. I asked em about it back in Nov Dec 2023 and they weren't budging. I do have a sort of strange dealership here in Helena MT. The service side HATES the sales side and will warn you… I do see they got a new sales manager some months ago and the prices have become more reasonable. Up here in Helena MT, the market is very strange. My dealership LOVED renegades and would take them if they could get them now. They told me they sold more than anyone. But if you live up here you would know why. I had a 2018 bought in May 2019 for 18K pretty loaded including tow package. Just one example of the market up here. If you want 4WD jeeps etc., you better drive 500 miles for a deal which I did by the way…
They are truly desperate. I just purchased a 2023 Mazda MX 30 EV in Quebec Canada for $25,000 Canadian plus tax. You canβt even buy a Honda Civic or a Corolla at that price. The dealership is the largest Mazda one in the world therefore they grouped all the Mazda MX 30s EVβs for liquidationit is happening. I could even send you pics of my new vehicle 25K plus tax Canadian.
Good luck selling those car they are soo expensive plus insurance no thanks
24 month old rotted cars…. π just imagine to damage and age on oil, battery, etc

What happens to the new cars that never sell at the dealership?
Uhβ¦. So maybe donβt buy these?
Free Palestine stop the genocide
Yea, my paid for 2013 civic si is looking better each day.
All shockingly awfull cars, no wonder they are unwanted…
Wow, it is like those Price vs Demand curves from Econ 101 actually apply in the real world…

There is no way dealerships can stay open.
Hopefully they have 10βs of thousands of unsold cars in 25,26,27 until they learn their lesson
Yea and those cars have been barely touched in years.
Same for motorcycles. I just got a great deal on a 2023 KLR 650
If you shop the right dealer youβll get the discount you want, you just have to be willing to stay firm on your price.
I saw where some dealers are trying to sell the '23's at the same price when they were brought in at the end of 2022 and 2023.
